Émilie Charmy (1878-1974) was a French avant-garde painter, an Expressionist, a Fauve, a mother, and an exception for her time. Unfortunately there is very little literature available on women artists of the early 20th century, and even less is available on Émilie Charmy herself.
Thankfully, the Friends of Émilie Charmy are recovering materials and data about Charmy as part of a larger collaborative effort to recognize artist’s mastery. The Friends of Émilie Charmy invite you to join us in the gathering and sharing of information.
